In Episode 14, a special guest, Mel, joins us. A former student who was part of Christian Centre Academy during the late 80s. Through her accounts, she sheds light on the dress code and the conduct of male staff, portraying a disconcerting image of the institution’s culture. Mel shares the challenging decision she made to enter foster care temporarily, seeking an escape from the environment. She goes on to describe how attending Public School at Marion Graham Collegiate in Saskatoon, Sk. marked the first instance where she truly felt safe in a school environment.

This is a spicy episode, so listeners beware.  The current hot button issue in Saskatchewan around planned parenthood and sex education is discussed, combined with the harms of not properly educating your children about consent and sex. Celin, a former student who spent 11 years at the school and left in 2017, reflects on her experiences at both the church and school during that period.
